Cookie policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

brandflare uses a small number of cookies. Most are needed to make the site work. The rest, set by Meta and LinkedIn, measure our advertising.

Cookies we set

  • Sign-in cookies (__session, __client_uat, __client). Set by Clerk, our authentication provider, when you sign in. They keep you signed in and protect your account. The session cookie lasts for the browser session; the others last up to a year.
  • Market preference (bf-market). Remembers the country you chose when adding a brand during sign-up, so it survives the trip through account creation. Lasts 7 days.
  • Campaign (bf-attribution). Set only when you arrive from a link to our site that names the campaign it belongs to, such as one of our ads. It remembers that campaign so that, if you sign up, we know which campaign brought you. Lasts 30 days.

During sign-up we also keep the brand name and website you typed in your browser's local storage (bf-signup-brand) so you don't have to enter them twice. It never leaves your browser until you submit it.

Cookies set by others

When you pay or manage billing you are taken to pages hosted by Stripe, which sets its own cookies there to process payments and prevent fraud. Those are covered by Stripe's cookie policy.

Advertising

We use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. It records pages you view on our public site and when you start signing up, create an account, add a brand, or go to checkout. It does not record pages inside your account. When you create an account or start a subscription, our server also tells Meta, with your email address scrambled (hashed) so Meta can match it only to an account it already knows. Meta sets a cookie (_fbp) that lasts 90 days, and may link these visits to a Facebook or Instagram account you are signed in to. You can control how Meta uses this in your Meta ad settings.

We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure our advertising on LinkedIn. Like the Meta Pixel, it records pages you view on our public site and when you start signing up, create an account, add a brand, or go to checkout, and never pages inside your account. LinkedIn sets cookies on our site (li_fat_id, li_giant) and on linkedin.com that last up to a year, and may link these visits to a LinkedIn account you are signed in to. You can control how LinkedIn uses this in your LinkedIn ad settings.

Analytics

We count page views and a few product events, and measure how quickly pages load, with Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. Both are cookie-free: they store nothing on your device and don't follow you across sites.

Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies you won't be able to stay signed in; everything public on the site works without them. Blocking the advertising cookies has no effect on how the site works.
